The South Gallery displays a number of themes from the late Victorian and Federation days such as Nursing, Medical, Tailoring, Butchering, Forestry, Carpentry, Dentistry and Printing.
‘Homecoming’ tells stories of local enlistees and the impact of the Frist World War, on them, their families and the local community after their return home.
‘Tourists Paradise’ tells the story of Port Macquarie’s tourism history.
The model of Lake Innes House represents Port Macquarie’s most prestigious home built between 1830 and 1843 by Archibald Clunes Innes. Objects from the house and family are displayed in adjacent windows including a Wedgwood toilet bowl.
‘School Days’ and ‘All at Sea’ also feature local objects and tell stories of our rich and unique history.
