Welcome to Columbus, Ohio! As the state capital and the largest city in Ohio, Columbus is a vibrant and dynamic city that truly has something for everyone. It's home to The Ohio State University, where the spirit of the Buckeyes can be felt everywhere, especially on a fall football Saturday.

But the city's identity goes far beyond its famous university. We are a hub of innovation, arts, and a booming food scene, with distinct neighborhoods like German Village and the Short North, each with its own unique flavor. It's a city that has preserved its history while constantly reinventing itself. Prepare to be surprised and inspired as we explore all that Columbus has to offer.

When the Ohio General Assembly decided to build a new state capital in a central location in 1812, the city was planned from scratch and named after the explorer Christopher Columbus. It became the state's official capital in 1816.

My name is Robert Druse, and I'm your guide for this tour of the city I've driven through and visited for decades. A lot of people see Columbus as just a big college town, but trust me, it's so much more than that. It's a city with grit, history, and a really unique personality.

This tour isn't about just rattling off facts. It's about getting a feel for the place. So let's roll.
