Acerca del museo
Rodrigo Petrella shows a selection of his work on Brazilian indigenous peoples developed over the last ten years.
We are presented with images so close to our eyes, with so little geographical references that they appear to have been taken somewhere close by. However these are images from very remote areas. In many cases they can only be reached after a week's travel from the closest urban center. The works on display at São Paulo's Metrô are a selection from the "Guardians of the Forest" exhibition held at the National Museum of the American Indian (Smithsonian) in New York City (2008) and at the Imperial City Art Museum in Beijing (2009).
Dialoguing with Petrella's work and as a result of an extensive period of research, sound designer Alvise Migotto has developed short soundtracks from full-length versions featured in exhibitions on the Brazilian Amazon presented in Cancun during COP16 (2010) and currently in São Paulo at SESC Itaquera (2013-2015) entitled "Amazônia Mundi".
