However, most of researchers share the general opinion that the Earth was exposed to enormous meteoric bombing at the first stages and its surface covered with meteoric craters had to remind a surface of the Moon or Venus.

The most ancient rocks known to us have age of 4 billion years. From this time the geological chronicle of our planet begins.
