As before mentioned cities, it also has a quite dynamic and diverse historical background. Even though presence of Ottoman Empire lasted for more than 4 centuries, today there are not many traces of its heritage saved. However, the ones that exist now days, are preserved by the government and are protected as cultural sites of great importance.
