À propos du musée

Hello to all big and small art lovers! We are pleased to welcome you to the Munch Museum. In this audio guide we will tell you about three of the most remarkable exhibits.

Let's get started! Our first exhibit is the painting The Scream. It is one of the most famous paintings by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch. Please note that the painting shows the figure of a man standing on a bridge. His hands are pressed to his head and his mouth is wide open. The painting depicts common themes associated with human existence - horror and fear of the unknown. Interestingly, there is more than one version of Scream. The artist created lithographs on the same subject, which are also presented in our museum.

Let's move on. The next painting to see is called Workers in snow. This sight to see is part of a series of works by the artist, dedicated to the themes of the lives of workers. Men with shovels in their hands stand in confident poses as they work in harsh winter conditions. The painting is an expression of Munch's respect for the labor of the working class. Now the canvas is practically not exhibited because it is in very poor condition. Unfortunately, even constant restorations cannot stop the destruction of the painting.

The last exhibit that we will look at today is the painting Red House and the Spruces. This is one of the artist's last works. Please note that the central element of the picture is the red house, which stands out against the background of dense fir trees. The red color of the house can symbolize human presence, the desire to find shelter, and fir trees can be a symbol of life. Overall, the painting is an interpretation of the interaction between man and nature.

This concludes our short excursion. We hope you had a wonderful time and really enjoyed your stay with us! See you again!
