Hello and welcome to the Sensing the Buddha exhibition.

We are about to introduce you to a collection of images of Buddha, some of the events in his life, the Buddhist pantheon and the objects used in the rites.

The exhibition will help you decrypt these images and rituals and open your eyes to the many and varied approaches to Buddhism over the eras, and in the different regions of the world.

You will also learn about the research conducted on the subject by our partner, the University of Ghent.

You will be able to visualise a Buddhist temple, find out what happens there, what you learn there and the people you meet.

You will hear testimonials from Belgians who have taken refuge in Buddha, his teachings and community, and see photos of their places of practice.

Taking things further, we will on several occasions invite you to soak up the atmosphere, reflect and follow the path… to live the sensory experience for yourself.

We hope that the exhibition will clarify for you the image of Buddha and the other buddhas, the different types of Buddhism and the many Buddhists.

It always begins with a deep inhalation then a deep exhalation.
