Pierre Auger Observatory

The goal of the Pierre Auger Observatory is to determine the origin and identity of ultrahigh-energy cosmic rays.

These studies initiate another way of doing astronomy, based on the observation of subatomic and elementary particles, which will provide different information from that obtained with the traditional way based on the observation of visible light or other forms of electromagnetic radiation.
