Audio tour 2. Ground Floor - Roselle

The visiting itinerary of the Roselle section begins in Room 2, and illustrates the origins and general characteristics of the settlement, from its first occupations to the Archaic period. It then continues with the dwellings of the Orientalizing and Archaic periods (Room 3) and surrounding necropolis (Room 4). Room 5 showcases decorative architectural elements of civil and religious cult buildings from the Archaic period.

Rooms 6, 7 and 8 concentrate on the Hellenistic era and the conquest and Romanization of Roselle. Rooms 9, 10 e 11 are dedicated to Roman cities during the imperial era, through exhibits of material sources and epigraphs, public buildings and statues and some of their architectural decorative elements. The last room (Room 12) documents the late imperial, medieval and modern phases of the city, ranging from the earliest evidence of Christianization until the latest occupations of the site.
