A brief History of the Pittsworth Pioneer Village

Following a public meeting in 1972, called by Sir Alan and Lady Enid Fletcher, the Pittsworth Historical Society was formed.

A portion of land known as Pioneer Park, previously donated to the shire by Mr & Mrs Christy Cronk, was allocated by the Pittsworth Shire Council as the site of a folk museum, in the form of the Pittsworth Pioneer Village.

The Pittsworth Pioneer Village, under the direction of the Historical Society, and with support from the Pittsworth Shire Council, has progressively been developed through purchase, donation and refurbishment of historically significant artefacts by Historical Society volunteers.

In February 2006, control of the Pioneer Village was relinquished by the Pittsworth Historical Society to the Pittsworth Shire Council, now the Toowoomba Regional Council, to be managed by a nominated committee and supported by the Historical Society volunteers and other interested persons.

 The entry price is Adults- $6, Concession - $5, Group - $5, Children - $2.
