Audio tour 10. Period from 1990-2008

The last exhibition room begins with the story of the emergence of the new state of Slovenia and the ensuing 10-day conflict between the Slovenian Defence Forces and the Yugoslav People's Army. On June 27 1991, the day after Slovenia's declaration of independence, the latter attacked strategic goals in Slovenia.

It shows the path to Slovenia's recognition, its entry into global organizations, the adoption of the euro and membership of the Schengen area. At the same time, it gives an insight into internal political developments and changes in the everyday life brought about by the new, capitalist social system. The exhibition story concludes with 2008, when Slovenia chaired the Council of the European Union.
