Fundación Juan March

Founded in 1955 by Spanish financier, Juan March Ordinas, Fundación Juan March’s Cultural Center hosts significant art exhibitions, concerts, seminars and lectures. With a philanthropic focus on science, art, music, culture and humanities endeavors, the foundation also serves as administrator for the Spanish Library of Contemporary Music and Theater in Madrid. Fundación Juan March includes the Center for Advanced Study in the Social Science (CEACS) which provides a research program promoting social sciences and its development.
Bartolome March amassed one of the greatest 20th century art collections encompassing Baroque to Impressionist to Modern. The collection including works by Goya; Murillo; Goya; Velázquez; Picasso; Miró; Dalí; Monet; Van Gogh; Kandinsky; Brâncuși; Léger; Fontana; Rothko, Klein and Francis Bacon.
The Fundación has a regular weekly musical program that includes midday concerts performed by young professional musicians; music students as well as contemporary Spanish music concerts. These concerts serve as a valuable platform for best of the young up-and-coming composers to gain recognition.
The building’s ground floor serves as the art gallery and hosts visiting exhibits as well as showcasing a rotating selection from the private collection. The larger musical programs take place in an acoustically superb underground concert hall.
