Kaštieľ Mojmírovce is a remarkable Baroque-Classical manor house built in the early 18th century, today serving as a four-star hotel and a national cultural monument. It represents a rare blend of aristocratic elegance and modern comfort, making it one of Slovakia’s most distinctive historic hotels.
The manor was commissioned in 1721 by Count Imrich Huňady, a member of a prominent Hungarian noble family. For centuries, Mojmírovce—then known as Urmín—was the administrative center of their estates. After World War II, the building suffered neglect and damage, with much of its original furnishings lost. Thanks to careful restoration, however, the manor has been preserved and revitalized, offering visitors a chance to experience history in a living form.
Architecturally, the manor retains its Baroque-Classical character, with interiors that highlight both artistry and symbolism. Guests entering the main hall are greeted by restored Terezian chandeliers, while the corridors themselves tell stories: the “Hall of Tolerance” displays portraits of philosophers, writers, and scientists alongside symbols of world religions, and another corridor brings to life scenes from Slovak folk tales collected by Pavol Dobšinský. Large-scale portraits of notable Slovak figures from the past century further enrich the atmosphere.
Surrounding the manor is a vast English park, established by German gardener Martin Steer after 1721. The park features a fountain and monumental statues of saints, creating a serene environment that complements the historical interiors.
Today, Kaštieľ Mojmírovce offers accommodation in 42 rooms with a total capacity of 84 beds. The hotel restaurant is known for its refined cuisine, while the wellness center includes a 25-meter swimming pool, saunas, and relaxation areas. For leisure, guests can enjoy a bowling alley or even a unique underground shooting range.
The manor is also a sought-after venue for weddings, celebrations, conferences, and corporate events, with facilities that can host up to 300 guests. As a member of the Association of Historic Hotels of Slovakia, Kaštieľ Mojmírovce stands as a symbol of cultural heritage and hospitality excellence.
In essence, Kaštieľ Mojmírovce is more than a hotel—it is a living monument where the past meets the present, offering visitors not only comfort and relaxation but also a journey into history and tradition.
