About the museum

At the foot of the Zamora Mountains in the place of an old hunting shelter, the prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino, also known as the Nabob, laid in 1906 the foundation stone of the castle that now carries his name.

The building is situated in the eastern part of the Bușteni city, at an altitude of 916m, having a large view on the Bucegi Mountains and the magnificent Prahova Valley, full of history and legends.

Today, the castle is open for visitation and is host to various cultural events, which include exhibitions with the artworks of some of the greatest artists of the world or classical music concerts with the performances of renowned artists. All of these are done with the intention of promoting the location’s and Romania’s history and culture through memorable experiences.
