Cantacuzino Castle in Busteni, built at the request of Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino in 1911, rises majestically at a 1,000 meters height, right in front of the Bucegi Mountains, offering visitors the most beautiful panoramic view in Busteni. It is open all year round, so guests can enjoy the spectacular view from the Castle’s domain, which differs from season to season.

A short walk to Cantacuzino Castle offers visitors a foray into the forgotten world of the old Romanian nobility. Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino belonged to one of the oldest European noble families and was an important Romanian politician, being twice elected mayor of Bucharest, prime minister of Romania in two terms, as well as minister in several cabinets. He was nicknamed „the Nabab” due to his extremely large fortune.
 
The Castle has a great architectural, historical, documentary and artistic value. The building was built in neo-Romanian style with neo-Brancovenesc elements, being the creation of the famous architect, Grigore Cerchez (1850-1927). The building, spread over 3400m², is coated with stone and bricks on the outside, and is richly decorated at the interior with elements such as Carrara marble, Venetian paintings made on Cordoba leather and Murano glass stained windows.
