The Barrois quarry is located in the municipalities of Freyming-Merlebach, Hôpital and Saint-Avold in the Warndt forest.

The name Barrois comes from the name of geologist Charles Barrois

In the Barrois quarry, you can see several lakes, a shale pit, large sandstone cliffs, exceptional flora and fauna. The lookout overlooking the quarry offers a magnificent panoramic view.
