博物馆 Giara Horse Civic Museum

The "Giara Horse Civic Museum" is an ethnographic museum with a section dedicated to the "Cavallino della Giara" (the horse of the Giara Plateau).

Housed within a traditional Campidanese house dating back to the early 1900s, its mission is to collect and preserve the heritage of the town of Genoni, focusing on aspects deeply rooted in the historical memory of its people. These are preserved through material culture, labor, stories, and the environment. The historical memory of a community whose journey is accompanied by the presence of the Cavallino della Giara, like a shadow that follows it without leaving, defining its contours and marking its path.

The various sections are complemented by the stunning images of Cagliari-born artist Pia Valentinis, and outside, visitors can admire works by artists Lello and Amedeo Porru.
