Audiotour E-cul-tours Bergamo

As part of the evaluation of the Innovation in Managing Cultural Attraction classes of Masters in Tourism Management and Planning in University de Aveiro, this tour was developed to support a presentation of the student´s experiences during the Blended Mobility of the E-cul-tours.

This tour takes place in Bergamo, located in Northern Italy. Bergamo is composed of an old walled core, known as Città Alta ("Upper Town") and the modern expansion in the plains below, known as Città Bassa (“Lower Town”). The two parts of the town are connected by a historic funicular, several roads, and picturesque footpaths. Città Alta: The upper town of Bergamo is surrounded by massive Venetian defensive Walls, built in the 16th century, that form the historic center of the city, a place with important architecture and great cultural and natural significance. As a confirmation of the priceless value of the Venetian Walls, UNESCO decided to recognize the walls the status of World Heritage site, enlisting it within the serial and transnational site named “Venetian fortifications between XVI and XVII Century”.
