Welcome to Karjalankallio’s Huilaus! Along a short, easy to travel nature path we learn about the many benefits of nature on our well-being.

The route is 1.2 km long and built so that it is accessible for a stroller or a wheelchair with an assistant. The route starts from Karjalankallio’s parking lot. It makes a loop in the nearby terrain and finishes at Karjalankallio’s lean-to. If you like, you can study a guide board at the side of the parking lot to see how the route goes.

The path starts from the edge of the parking lot, runs gently uphill and turns right halfway up the hill.  If you continue straight, you arrive at Karjalankallio’s lean-to. The wellness path has four checkpoints, and each checkpoint has a bench and a guide board. The board tells briefly about the wellness effects of nature. At some checkpoints, you can also do theme related exercises.

The name of the route, Karjalankallio’s huilaus, comes from a Finnish word that usually means resting. But in northern Finland, the word actually means fast, obstacle-free travel. Whichever way you do it, have a nice outing!
