La stanza prende il nome dalla Favola di Amore e Psiche di Apuleio, un tempo narrata sul soffitto in cinque dipinti a opera di Francesco Salviati e Francesco Menzocchi, (1539 ca). Durante il restauro del Palazzo, nel 2021, è stata fatta una scoperta straordinaria: il Rilievo della Salamandra che orna il camino, a lungo oscurato, è stato fortuitamente svelato di nuovo. La sala si presenta come una galleria di dipinti sacri e profani di illustri artisti della scuola veneziana e romana, come Tiziano, Tintoretto, Bassano e Cavarozzi, a richiamare la sua probabile destinazione d’uso al tempo dei Grimani. È incorniciata da due ritratti di Giovanni Grimani di Tintoretto e bottega e completata da un opulento insieme di mobili, arazzi e argenteria del XVI e XVII secolo.

The room takes its name from Apuleius’ enchanting fable of Cupid and Psyche, once vividly brought to life upon its ceiling through five masterful paintings by Francesco Salviati and Francesco Menzocchi, created around 1539. During the palace’s restoration in 2021, a remarkable discovery was made—the salamander relief adorning the chimney piece, long obscured, was fortuitously unveiled once more. The room appears as a gallery of sacred and profane paintings by the luminaries of the Venetian and Roman school, such as Titian, Tintoretto, Bassano and Cavarozzi, recalling its probable use at the time of the Grimani. The room is framed by two portraits of Giovanni Grimani by Tintoretto and workshop and is complemented by an opulent ensemble of furniture, tapestries, and silverware from the 16th and 17th century.

Der Palast ist wunderschön. Jeder Saal ist einzigartig, die Decken wunderbar gestaltet, Die Ausstellungsstücke sind ebenfalls außergewöhnlich. ABER : Es gibt keine Beschreibungen bei den Objekten und Gemälden. Schrifttafeln , eine pro Saal ist unübersichtlich und den Ausstellungsstücken nicht zuordnenbar. die gescannten Informationen sind leider benutzerunfreundlich. Fazit: sehr beeindruckend beim Durchschreiten der Säle, Informationen muss man sich anderswo holen.
