Little survives at the site itself, but this circular walk and audio guide shares what we know about this important site. During this 2.5 mile circular loop you will journey with a time-traveller, meeting different historical figures linked to the palace. This is an alternative to the adult guide for children to listen to while their parent/guardian listens to the adult guide.
Surrey County Archaeological Unit (SCAU) would like to thank The Friends of Woking Palace and Woking Borough Council for their support on the Woking Palace and its Park project.
Things to know about this walk:
· We advise that a parent/guardian downloads this guide before starting the walk as there is limited phone signal at the site.
· The walk begins at Manor Way Car Park in Old Woking. Car parking is free and the address of the car park is Manor Way, Old Woking, Woking GU22 9JX
· We advise you use headphones for this walk to improve the sound quality, but ensure you take these out when crossing the road - always ensure that a parent/guardian helps you cross the busy road.
· This walk is just over 2 miles long and lasts around 1hour 15mins.
· The walk is a mixture of road, track and footpath with uneven ground and other trip hazards. It includes a stile. Please take care. Some of this walk can be muddy and wet in the winter months of after rain, so you might want to wear wellies!
· Don't forget to turn your phone volume up when you start the walk and check en route for pictures at each point!
· Your parent/guardian is responsible for your safety throughout this walk.
Please note that the children’s tour does not include all of the same stops as its adult counterpart - it begins a little later at, point 6 of the adult tour.

The second half of the walk is very wet after all the rain but we had wellies and loved this walk. We did the adult tour at the same time which is also excellent and we learnt a lot. Very impressed it was made by work experience students! Well done!

In winter or when wet DO NOT go past the style at point 11 if you have small children or elderly walkers as its too muddy and boggy just to a return once you’ve seen the Willow Withies. Not listed on the map there are streams which can only be crossed using broken branches - our 1h trip took 3hrs! The audio guide and photos on the Palace are informative and make it much more interesting.
