Audioguía Biosphere Reserve of Ñacuñan

Ñacuñan is a Protected Natural Area since 1961 with an area of 12,282 ha, located in the department of Santa Rosa, 180 km from the city of Mendoza. It is accessed by National Route No. 7 to the town of Las Catitas and south junction by Provincial Route No. 153.

This Forest Reserve is representative of the Monte ecoregion, and an example of conservation of native flora (carob tree and chañar, between others), flora and fauna typical of the arid environment

. In 1986 Ñacuñan joined the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserves.

Its relevant activities are the sighting of native flora and fauna, photography, hiking, educational visits, and it is the base of scientific activities directed by CONICET.
