Welcome to the museum of Petar II Petrović Njegoš.
The Njegoš museum- Biljarda was founded in 1951 in the former residence of the Montenegrin ruler, bishop and poet Petar II Petrović Njegoš. The building was built in 1838 when the Cetinje monastery become too cramped to accommodate all state institutions. It got its unusual name after billiars, Njegoš’s favorite game. The permanent exibition of this museum is dedicated to Njegoš’s life and creative work and contains his personal beloginigs, works of art, as well as his library and manuscript of The Mauntain Wreath. The museum also contains space adapted for temporary exibitions.

First of all, I would like to praise the idea that museums in Montenegro include audio guides in addition to the existing guides who do their job excellently and present the historical and cultural heritage of their country in the best possible way. I would especially like to praise the lady who did the audio adaptation of the text in French. An incredibly professional job. Bravo Mademoiselle.
