Audioguía What's Hiding in the Library?

In 1957 Broomhill Library, now a Community Library run by volunteers, took over the former family home known as Oriel House.

The house was built in 1870 and on this tour you will discover many features of this Victorian house which are usually hidden from public viewing.

Visitors to the building will perhaps not realise that the library occupies only two floors of the four which include an attic and basement. These are large spaces with rooms which were important parts of a Victorian family home and to the six families who lived here between 1870 and 1955.

This tour will explore these ‘hidden’ areas and highlight some of the other architectural features of interest to be seen in the library.

Very interesting and informative. I would like to hear more about the stories of the lives of those who ‘lived in the library’ . It might make a good pamphlet
