Hello, Welcome to izi.TRAVEL’s Amer Fort Walking Tour. Located in Rajasthan, the Abode of the Rajas, this state was called Rajputana; meaning ‘the country of the Rajputs'.

The Amer Fort is a fusion of Mughal and Rajasthani architecture and is one of the world’s greatest schools of architecture that resulted from the relation between the Mughals and the Rajputs.

Rajput architecture is an amalgamation of enthralling landscapes, fort palaces and beautiful cities. Many Rajput maharajas served as imperial commanders and regional governors for the Mughals, all the while remaining in their fortified cities of Rajasthan. Rajputs were builders of beautiful and aesthetically appealing temples and you will find a lot of Rajput influence in the Mughal architecture, even in iconic landmarks like the Taj Mahal. Cities like Agra and New Delhi find the fusion of Mughal and Rajputana styles of architecture and design elements in their palaces Forts and Gardens.
