    The municipality Ouder- Amstel is formed by three villages, Duivendrecht, Ouderkerk aan de Amstel and Waver. Ouderkerk aan de Amstel is the most interesting for visitors and has a lot of cultural and historical heritage. Monuments worth seeing are the two historical churches, 17th and 18th- century Country seats, the Portugues Jewish Cemetary Beth Haim, the tradititional center of the village and many other highlights. 

    In Ouderkerk there is a wide variety of restaurants and terraces along the Amstel river where visitors have the possibility to lunch, have diner or just enjoy the environment. In the surroundings of Ouderkerk aan de Amstel there are some beautiful country houses and the fields and waters around the village are great for outdoor activities. 

    The more south you get, the more rural the area gets. The authentic polders 'De Ronde Hoep' and De Duivendrechtse Polder and the beautiful waters, lake 'Ouderkerkerplas' and rivers the Amstel and the Bullewijk make the area to a great spot for walking, biking and all kinds of wateractivities.
