À propos du musée
The Centre is a certified resource under the French Towns and Countries of Art and History reward scheme. In exchange for this label, the local government created a public visitor route to give people a feel for the spirit of the local area. The area groups together a number of smaller communities and is known as the “Pays SUD”, which stands for Serre-Ponçon, Ubaye and Durance.
The primary difference between the Centre and a museum is that the Centre has no physical collections. Our aim is, instead, to provide an interpretation of local heritage and to encourage visitors to reflect on it. The rest is over to you – take a walk around the area and see what you discover!
