À propos du musée

Prisoner of War camp No. 107 was built by SNIA Viscosa, one of the most important Italian companies of the 20th century, with the aim of using prisoners in its agricultural activities. It began operating in 1942 and, until the armistice of 1943, housed a thousand New Zealand and South African prisoners enlisted in the British armies. After the armistice, the camp was decommissioned but immediately converted into a village to house SNIA workers. In 1945, it took the name Villaggio Roma.
