"And I know that there are those who say: they died for precious little. A simple piece of intelligence (not always precise) wasn’t worth it, nor was a tract, nor even an underground newspaper (often badly printed). To such persons one must reply: It’s that they were on the side of life. It’s that they liked things as insignificant as a song, a snapping of fingers, a smile. You can squeeze a bee in your hand until it suffocates, but it won’t suffocate without stinging you. That’s precious little, you will say. But if it didn’t sting you, bees would have been extinct a long time ago.”

Using this metaphor, the poet Jean Paulhan points out the obvious: for many of the resistance fighters, they had no choice but to struggle to regain freedom and to fight the unacceptable.

The CHRD makes this part of history comprehensible to as many people as possible through testimonials, objects and photographs.

Thanks to an important documentation center and a cultural program that includes current human rights news, the museum is also a place of dialog and encounter.

    Je cherchais à écouter "LES FEMMES, COMPAGNON DE LA LIBÉRATION" parmi les conférences. Celle-ci et d'autre ont disparu ou sont inaccessibles, dommage pour ce site que j'ai failli recommander à mes élèves
