Musée Baturyn Museum of Archeology

Dear, Friends! Welcome to the Baturyn Museum of Archeology!

Baturyn is one of the former capitals of Ukraine. But it has a special history. For three centuries the city and its true past were forgotten. Baturyn was discovered for Ukraine and the rest of the world by archaeologists. They started their excavations here in 1995. Sensational archaeological findings and discoveries in Baturyn allowed us to look at the past and the way to independence of the Ukrainian nation from a different angle. These findings formed the basis of the exposition of the Baturyn Museum of Archeology, which welcomed its first visitors in 2009. The museum introduces the ancient history of the city, the times of Polish rule, and the era of the Cossacks, as well as the most glorious period in the history of Baturyn when the city was the capital of Ukraine.
