Welcome to Dallas, my name is Katherine and I’ll be your guide on this tour, as presented by Insight Guides. I’ll show you how Dallas has changed from a pioneer settlement in the 1840s to today’s modern and thriving city. This tour should take about two hours to complete, not including any time spent at attractions along the way.
On this tour, you’ll hear stories and visit places associated with early pioneers, beer magnates, downtown’s decline and resurgence, the vital role of the railway and the city’s industrial past. We’ll end the tour in the place where an event that changed the course of history took place, the assassination of President Kennedy.
You can stop at any time and start again at the same spot later. You can follow the route on your phone or simply listen as I guide you from one sight to the next. I'll be giving you clear directions and the audio will automatically start playing when you get close to the next sight on the tour. Don't worry if you need to skip a sight as the tour will pick up at the next location. One more thing before we get started – always be aware of your surroundings and be sure to obey all traffic signals.
I also suggest you stop often for refreshments in the summer months as you’ll want to stay hydrated. There are plenty of bars and restaurants along the way if you need to make a stop.
Ready? Then what are we waiting for? Let's get going!
