Musée Diadrasis

Diadrasis was founded in 2009, following and intense month of international training at ICCROM in Rome. There as once again we had enjoyed the benefits of the international and interdisciplinary training environment, we decided to found a body that would allow us to grow this idea of learning in action and one from the other. We must have been so enthusiastic when sharing our dream that many friends that had nothing to do with heritage, lawyers, accountants, developers and many more, fully supported us and the idea become true in only a few months. Diadrasis, Interdisciplinary research on Archaeological & Architectural Conservation became a legal entity in Greece and we were ready to start!

From our first pilot restoration workshop project in a small chapel in the Greek island of Zakynthos, many things have changed, exactly because being interactive and open to new members and collaborators we have developed many different kind of activities regarding unrevealed cultural Heritage. We started as an organization only for heritage professionals, and on our path we discovered the power of the heritage lovers –the wider public. First changes came in the name, the long subtitle was gone, and we summarized our action as interaction for heritage and culture. Then we distinguished our main fields of activities in four: Training, Public Awareness, Research, Publications. With the synergies we grew, learned and developed and we are now ready to do more on the protection, conservation and awareness of unrevealed cultural Heritage!
