Musei di Maremma is the name given to the provincial museum network of Grosseto.

We total almost 50 locations between museums, monuments conserved as museum specimens, parks and archeological areas that cover a timeline spanning from prehistoric times to Etruscan and Roman archeology, from medieval to contemporary art, and touching upon the world of traditional culture and rural civilization.

This network, formally created in 2003 and in full operation since 2006, currently includes 19 Maremma municipalities, in addition to the Parco Nazionale delle Colline Metallifere Grossetane and the Fondazione Grosseto Cultura, and remains open to the inclusion of new realities bearing witness to the vast and multifaceted museum and cultural offer of our territory.

In almost every municipal area of this province, one can find at least one exhibition structure and each of these represents the narration of that piece of land and its people: the richness and variety of evidence from our territory are breathtaking, from the countless features of the landscape, to the archeological material traces, and the artistic legacy that has survived for centuries - from Etruscan to medieval to contemporary times - including the remains of ancient mining and metalworking sites which clearly demonstrate how the history of mineral extraction and metalworking developed hand in hand with the territory and the evolution of its natural environment, from ancient to present times.

Our network’s development has at this point covered a decade, adding up the resources and efforts of many individuals in order to carry out compounded cultural activities for the benefit of all, like exhibitions, published material, conventions, educational activities, training courses, and the spread of information through social networks.
