The next interactive table is "In the Heart of Eurasia".
Twenty years have passed since the capital of independent Kazakhstan became Astana - a visiting card, the brand of our country in the eyes of the entire world community.
At the presentation of his book "In the Heart of Eurasia" (it is represented in the exposition of the table) NA. Nazarbayev especially noted the main mission of the capital: "The history of Astana is the history of independent Kazakhstan. Dynamic growth of Astana is the embodiment of prosperity of our country, it is a symbol of hope and confidence of the people in their future”.
The Ishim-Nurinsky region has long been not only the region where cattle-breeding, agriculture, handicrafts and trade developed. Here cities developed, the origins of which go back to the depths of centuries. Archaeological researches of the scientist with a world name - Kemal Akishev, confirmed historical information about the ancient city of Bozok, which dates back to the VIII century. The results of the work of the Ishim archaeological expedition headed by K. Akishev are presented in the first window.
In general, it should be emphasized that the tradition of urban culture in the modern territory of Astana and Akmola Pre-Ushyaya is a long one. These cities performed not only trade and economic, but also military-administrative and cult functions.
Akmola fortification in the 19th century became a powerful springboard for the opening of other steppe districts. September 26, 1862 Akmola was officially declared a district city. In 1868 the city became the district center of the Akmola district of the Akmola region.
In 1939, Akmolinsk became a regional center, in which 32 thousand people lived.
The development of virgin lands is one of the important postwar pages in the history of the city and the region. On March 2, 1954, the first echelon arrived with volunteers from Alma-Ata, and on March 5 - with Moscow virgin lands. Only in the period from 1953 to 1958 in the Akmola region arrived about 270 thousand people. Our republic has become a breadbasket practically for the whole Soviet Union. December 26, 1960 issued a decree on the formation of the virgin land. On March 20, 1961, by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Kazakh SSR, Akmolinsk was renamed Tselinograd.
