Audio tour XXI century

XXI century started with the foundation of World Toilet Organization. It happened in 2001 during international conference dedicated to toilet problems in Singapore. Several dozens of members of seventeen international toilet associations took part in this event. World Toilet Organization established World Toilet Day in its turn. This Day is celebrated 19 November. First it was celebrated in 2002.

In XXI century the engineers continue to improve plumbing equipment, the artists continue to outplay toilet motives.

One of the installations of Museum of toilet’s history refers to XXI century. In September 2001 the company «Bosch Ukraine» held the competition «Prosto Art». Six Ukrainian artists took part in it. The result of this competition are several boilers painted by different motives, in different color spectrum. There’s the boiler painted by Ukrainian artist-muralist Tymur Levchenko (Timo Levin). The picture by environmental issues is made on the surface of object. We can see closed wrists with small tree on green hill.

In 2012 the sculpture “Little devil” was made in Belgium. It’s plaster, covered with bright red paint.

The product of XXI century is the bowl by Japanese company “TOTO”. It has several functions: heating of seat, bidet, dry.

Here’s the set by Prague company “Smaltum” from 2012. We can see enameled children’s pot under the chair with hole. It’s interesting that it has safety belt.

In September 2007 Museum of toilet’s history was opened in Kyiv. Its owners are the employers Marina Bogdanenko and Mykola Bogdanenko. The range of interests of this Museum is the problems of hygiene, the problems of improvement in different areas of the world in different periods. It makes the competitions, periodical exhibitions, children’s events. The base of Museum is the collection of toilet related items. It started in the middle of 1990s. It’s largest such collection. In 2015 it got the certificate “World Guinness Record”. The collection continues to replenish.
