Audio tour m. Sala del Coretto

This small room offers fascinating views on two sides. If you look out from the balcony you can admire from close up the spire by Cosimo Fanzago, dedicated to St. Gennaro in 1631, and the dome of the chapel of the Treasury of S. Gennaro. In the wall facing the balcony, a wooden cupboard conceals a matroneum, which opens onto the interior of the Church. It was made to enable the users to witness the religious functions held in church. It provides a spectacular view of the interior of the church with Caravaggio's great masterpiece.
