Art Nouveau was at that time an original and modern movement in arts that consisted in decorative and flowing lines. This so-called ''New Art'' allowed Waltz to reinvent himself on a stylistic and technical level, steadily increasing his popularity. He starts experimenting with many diverse techniques such as oil, gouache, watercolors, engravings, and aquatint. The variety of these methods were leading to the wide range of artworks
