Rural family, Young Nature Experiences, NaturAnimés, the Damira Asperti college and the town of Penne d'Agenais have set up a beautiful trail to discover biodiversity through a short botanical hike of about an hour around the St Michel plateau, listed as a Natural Zone of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest (ZNIEFF).

The trail, which has been developed and illustrated with 6 reading tables over 3.5 km, starts from the Porte de Ferracap car park and takes the steep impasse Plateau Saint-Michel (the only difficulty of the circuit) and part of the GR towards Santiago de Compostela. It invites you to listen to your senses and stop to see the panoramas of the Lot and Boudouyssou valleys. It preserves a fortified building, called the Tranchée des Anglais, dating from the 14th century.

This circuit on a small loop in the woods and on a small country road offers a beautiful view of the Lot and Boudouyssou valleys, feasible without too much difficulty despite a steep climb at the beginning to reach the St Michel plateau.

A car park at the Ferracap gate, picnic tables on rue de l'Horizon around the fortified village and public toilets at 13 Place Gambetta rue de Carlane for your comfort..

A very good walk and don't forget to take a bottle of water and a good pair of walking shoes with you..
