It is a collection of knowledge, skills, and practices used to maintain health, diagnose, alleviate, or cure physical and mental illnesses. Traditional medicine systems often use herbal remedies and treatments such as acupuncture and homeopathy. Most of them are widely available and easy to use. They are believed to be derived from nature itself and therefore safer and more beneficial to health than pharmaceutical substances. However, contrary to popular belief, traditional medicine is not always safe and can have negative health effects, especially if used in combination with other medications or in large doses.
