Über das Museum

One of a handful of specialized children’s art-making museums in the United States, Children’s Museum of the Arts introduces children and their families to the transformative power of the arts. Three hands-on studios surround a gallery that shows themed exhibits of contemporary art, presenting art works by emerging and established artists alongside work by children. CMA provides children aged 1-15, the opportunity to make art side-by-side with professional artists in its Fine Arts Studio, Animation and Film Lab, Clay Bar, Under 5s WEE Studio, and Gallery. In addition to  on-site public programming, CMA leads after school classes, early childhood arts classes, intensive art camps, special family workshops, school and community outreach programs, inclusive classes, and open studios for tweens and teens. As a non-profit museum, CMA is devoted to making art accessible to children across a range of socio-economic backgrounds and children with developmental disabilities. Your admission ticket helps support the museum’s free, community programs that provide free access to the arts for approximately 30,000 underserved New York City children and family members each year.
