We introduce and represent Istria mainly as a geographical fact in a particular historical context. Natural environment shapes Istria and influence also its cultural differences. Istrian communities as a subject of first ethnographic researches in the area is another topic. An insight to the timeline of Istrian contemporary history, serves to underline the complexity of cultural and social process during the last century.
