Audiotur Porcelain

The Weesper (and Dutch) porcelain from the 18th and early 19th century is still part of the main collection of Museum Weesp. You can see a large collection of Weesper and Amstel porcelain and a smaller collection of porcelain from Loosdrecht.

The permanent collection of the porcelain in the museum contains valuable works on loan from the collection Weesp Porcelain of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

Between the years 1759-1768 Weesp produced the first porcelain in the Netherlands. After Weesp founded a porcelain factory in Loosdrecht (overlaid by material from Weesp). After the production ceased in Loosdrecht, a new porcelain factory was founded in Ouder-Amstel; also with material from Loosdrecht, and again with new owners and investors. Later on this factory moved to New Amstel. Finally, in 1814, the production of Dutch porcelain permanently discontinued.
