Uber or taxi in Dubrovnik, which is better?

Why you should visit Dubrovnik? 

Dubrovnik, once the center of the collision of world powers, is a port and tourist attraction located on the Adriatic Sea, in the extreme south of Croatia in Dalmatia.

Alongside Athens and Istanbul, Dubrovnik is the third place most visited place on the Balkan Peninsula, lying  on its western side in contrast to Athens on the southern side and Istanbul on its eastern side. Lokrum is a magical little island known for Richard the Lionheart, the English king who was supposedly caught in a storm on his way back from the Third Crusade and was cast on this island. According to belief, he was supposed to build a church at the place where he was saved, so a rich gift for the construction of the cathedral in Dubrovnik is attributed to that.

How to explore Dubrovnik- by taxi or Uber? 

You must be wondering which type of transport is best to use in a city that was once famous for its literature, whose representatives were Ivan Gundulić and Marin Držić.

Taxi stands are located in the busiest places in Dubrovnik. They can usually carry up to 4 passengers. If the taximeter was not turned on, you have no obligation to pay for the driving service. The Blue taxi is great because it is pet friendly and also has  safe seats for children- child seat is available after 6 pm.

Uber has different rates for driving, considering the demand at a given moment, so the price of the service can increase several times when it's crowded. We asked tourists and they say that Uber is cheaper than an ordinary taxi and that it happened that an ordinary taxi sometimes charged them 2, 3 times more than an Uber. The app is connected to at least 3 drivers in the area at any time of the day and there is always another driver coming and Uber is always there in less than 5 minutes. Uber is fast and efficient, the price varies depending on the day and demand, but the price is always shown in advance in the app, so there are no unpleasant surprises.

It is an incredible fact that last year there were as many as 8,000 taxis on the streets of Dubrovnik.
