关于博物馆

Massey Shaw is a unique London vessel launched in 1935, serving the London Fire Brigade until her decommissioning in 1971.

Named after Sir Eyre Massey Shaw, first chief fire office of the Metropolitan Fire Brigade, she served during WWII in 'Operation Dynamo' and during 'The Blitz' being credited with saving hundreds of lives and bringing troops back from the beaches of Dunkirk.

The Massey Shaw Educational Trust is now her proud owner and our volunteers work tirelessly to maintain her and share the stories and importance of this vessel on the River Thames.

Explore, discover and experience London's unsung hero of the Thames!

If you're visiting the London's West India Dock, look out for one of the heroic little boats of the Second World War. The story of this firefloat is an absolute must!
