Located at the merge of the Yellow Breeches Creek and the Susquehanna River, New Cumberland was incorporated on March 21, 1831 after decades of name changes. The location was useful for saw mills, grain mills, and shipping, allowing for the town to grow throughout the decades. Today, New Cumberland has a population of 7,000 people and is known for the annual Apple Festival, where hundreds of vendors gather with thousands of visitors.
