音频游览 2021 Art of the Basin: An Artistic Rendering of Northwest Wyoming

"Art of the Basin" is on view at the Meeteetse Museums until December 11, 2021. The show was juried by Karen McWhorter of the Whitney Western Art Museum at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, Tammi Hanawalt of the National Museum of Wildlife Art, and Ken Schuster of the Brinton Museum. The judges had the difficult task of narrowing down the number of submissions from 48 to 16. Thanks to Cody Ace Hardware, the Wea Market of Meeteetse, the Elkhorn Bar and Grill, and Bank of the West, we were able to award cash prizes to our first, second and third place winners.

Cody Ace Hardware generously donated the cash prize of $500 for our first place winner "Moon Setting Over the Hernandez's" by Barrie Lynn Bryant. The second place prize of $250 donated by the Wea Market of Meeteetse was awarded to "Angus Bull Sketches" by Sue Sommers. The third place prize of $100, donated by Bank of the West was awarded to "The Shepherd's Rest" by Paul Kethley. Honorable Mentions went to Ed Lavino for "Winter Grave, Ft. Washakie, WY" and McKenzy Ellisen for "Tools of the Trade" and "Clouds of Tradition." Congratulations to our winners and thank you to our sponsors for their generous donations allowing us to support community artists.

Artists with works in the show include Jen Litterer Trevino, Rhonda Schmeltzer, Stephanie Rose, Amanda Black, AB Word, Ed Lavino, McKenzy Ellisen, Austin Kennedy, Maggie Bassett, Barrie Lynn Bryant, Sue Sommers, and Paul Kethley.
