音频游览 Ivan SAVENKO

Ivan Savenko (1924-1987) is an honored Russian painter, a recognized artist of the realistic landscapes. The nature is the main character of his works, the permanent observation object, a reason to recreate the beauty around.

Ivan Savenko was born in 1924 in the Ukraine and in 1942 he went to the battlefront. He was rewarded by the Order of Glory for his bravery. He entered in the Kiev State Art Institute (1944) and then he studied in the Repin Art Institute in Saint Petersburg (1950-1954), under the direction of A.Gerasimov.

I.Savenko becomes a member of the USSR Painters’ Union in 1952, and then he maintains a thesis and becomes the Ph.D of Art history, continuing to study in the Studio of Academy of Art.

His lyric paintings glorify the Russian views – its fields, meadows and woods. They are full by the movements of grass, clouds and trees, reflecting the painter’s attachment to this clear nature life.
