About the museum

The Cultural Center of Small Indigenous Peoples of the North was first opened on September 5, 2008. The Center focuses on academical studies, scientific research, exhibitions, guided tours, regional studies, as well as cultural and educational activities. The Centre is reviving, preserving and developing small indigenous peoples' crafts and arts.

There are two exhibition halls, and workshops for master classes in woodworking, beading, fabric and leather work.

Craftspeople of the Center create examples of material culture of traditional arts and crafts, develop souvenirs based on the artistic traditions of indigenous peoples of the North. They also provide methodological and practical assistance in the implementation of programs for the development of arts and crafts.

The Centre personnel actively participates in the cultural life of the town.
