Bland Shire Council is proud to serve a population of approximately 6000 people.

The main population centre of the Bland Shire is West Wyalong, which is bordered by Wyalong to the east. Bland Shire Council also services a number of rural village communities including Ungarie, Weethalle, Barmedman, Mirrool, Tallimba, Naradhan and Kikiora.

Bland Council provides a range of day-to-day services for the Bland Shire community and is responsible for issues that affect the daily lives of residents.

Council’s vision statement is "people, pride, progress" and mission statement is "Working together to improve our quality of life"

Bland Shire boasts a long and proud history and an exciting and vibrant future.

The Bland Shire’s story began with the discovery of gold in the late 1890’s and soon after the area become the agricultural hub of the district.

Mining and agriculture continue to be the Bland Shire’s major industries today.
