Over het museum

The first air journey from Portugal to Macau, led by Brito Paes, Sarmento de Beires, and Manuel Gouveia in 1924, began with the Breguet XVI BN 2 airplane, named "Pátria". After numerous challenges and incidents, including a forced landing in the desert, the "Pátria II", a De Havilland DH9, was acquired in India. The journey culminated in Macau after facing storms and technical difficulties.

This pioneering air connection between Portugal and Macau not only marked a historic achievement in Portuguese and international aviation but also left a lasting legacy, demonstrating the courage and determination of the involved crew.

Throughout the exhibition, the public has the opportunity to follow the footsteps of the aviators through historical photographs and original documents of the time, providing a unique insight into the challenges and successes faced by the crew during their journey to Macau.
